  hi everyone i'm 19 year old and i've been a jehovahs witness for 3 years now.

  i've followed the rules and i'm even a pioneer.

  but i've hid the secret of a boyfriend i had from india.

  Deep breath. It’s all going to be ok, it will never be the same, but you will be ok no matter what happens. Make a plan for yourself if you should happen to get disfellowshipped.

  The laziness of JW parents....

  it struck me that the society has created a culture of lazy jw parenting.. rather than parents being there to guide and direct and help their children through all stages of life, the gb / society has become the "go-too" for everything.. if the child has an issue, there is a wt article for that.. does the child need help with something else?

  ah, there is a caleb and sophia cartoon for that.. what about that other topic?

  ah, there is a book for that.. so rather than being present parents, the average jw parent simply outsources their parenting to the organization!

  I think the bigger issue with the JW brand of parenting is they think everyone is the same, their thoughts, feelings, and reactions are all the same according to the Watchtower. IRL that’s never true and each child/person deserves to have their own unique situation, personality, and feelings taken in to account.

  Oh and the answer to everything is do more Watchtower related activities.

  Nope not overreacting - your mother is acting like you have no say in what your daughter does. Just because you aren’t a witness doesn’t give her the right to do whatever she wants with your child.

  Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage

  my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).

  he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.

  but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

  Run - he doesn’t respect your right to believe what you want to. You are being given information from his actions to make a decision, use it.

  her only comment was it was about time they made some modest clothing.

  I think people should wear what they want to. My problem is people act like if you don’t wear a hijab or some other religiously sanctioned attire you are somehow less than those who do.

  I celebrate whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I always get flowers on Valentines from my husband. Christmas - sometimes we go all out sometimes not. Birthdays are usually a nice dinner together or sometimes the casino 😮
